Frequently Asked Questions

  1. What is a portable hybrid exhibit?

Hybrid is a relatively new category of trade show displays. Generally, portable hybrid displays incorporate aluminum extrusion, tension fabric, and other display components to create a modern-looking tabletop or inline display. For a more comprehensive explanation, refer to the article: 10 Things to Consider Before Buying a Portable Hybrid Display.

Our portable hybrids assemble primarily with attached knobs, and the designs are unlike any other hybrids in the world:  upscale, contemporary, and very affordable.

  2. What makes the Symphony Portable line different from other portable displays?

Symphony Portable Displays are unlike any other portable display system in their appearance, assembly, and frame and accessory options. More portables have a few cookie-cutter, rectanglar designs, which look portable. Symphony's modular design allows you to mix and match 7 frame shapes and 16 accessories to create a distinctive upscale appearance. Nothing about Symphony, except the tool-less assembly and packaging, screams portable.

    Features and Benefits:

    • Graphics:  The SEG fabric graphics are vibrant, easy-to-install, and fit the frame perfectly. There's never any of the wrinkles and puckers often seen in pillowcase graphics.
    • Assembly:  Assembly is completely tool-less whether it's the frames, the accessories, or the counters and workstations
    • Modular:  The modular design makes it simple to expand to 20 ft. inline or downsize to a 10 display depending on the show
    • Monitors:  Choose from three monitor size options ranging from 24" to 46".
    • Charging:   Wireless charging comes standard. Yes, standard whenever you select a Symphony kit with a backwall workstation.
    • Warranty:  Our legendary Lifetime Warranty on Workmanship is unparallel in the exhibit industry.
  3. What are the key features of Symphony Portable Displays

    Features:

    • Sizes: 10 x 10, 10 x 20, Counters, Workstations
    • Frames:  (4) large frame shapes -- Rectangle, Arch, Convex, and Concave. (2) small frame shapes -- Arch and Rectangle.
    • Kits: 40+ standard kits.
    • Engineered Aluminum Extrusions: Silicone Edge Extrusions with a satin anodized finish.
    • Graphics: Silicone Edge, direct print, and vinyl graphics
    • Assembly: No tools assembly of the frames and accessories, plus individual numbered parts with detailed setup instructions.
    • Accessories: Monitor mounts, workstations, wireless charging, tablet enclosures, literature holders, standoff graphics, and counters
    • Packaging: Portable roto-molded case(s) with die-cut foam inserts.

Bottom Line:  Competitively priced, engineered aluminum extrusions, tool-less assembly, large graphics, more options. The Symphony System epitomizes high design and offers the most standard options of any portable hybrid in the world.

  4. What is a tension fabric graphic?

Tension fabric graphics attach to a frame so the fabric is taut edge-to-edge, creating “tension.” Typically, the graphic has Velcro hook sewn along the border, usually top and bottom, and attaches to Velcro loop on the frame. A silicone bead or welting can also be sewn to the edge of the tension fabric graphic. Those are referred to as Silicone Edge Graphics(SEG).

What are the benefits of fabric graphics vs. traditional first surface graphics?

    • Flexibility. An array of fabric options and finishing exists. Fabric graphics can be adapted to just about any hardware
    • Storage and Shipping. Fabric is lighter than many other graphics. Fold your graphics neatly when in storage and take up much less space.
    • Care. Fabric graphics can be washed and steamed and are just as durable and long lasting as traditional graphics.
    • Lightweight. Larger graphics weigh less, perfect for draping or creating space definition.
    • Cost. More image bang for the buck!
    • Green. There are the obvious transportation and storage benefits. Even more exciting is the growing list of fabric options created from recycled materials.
    • No Glare. Fabric is the perfect choice for media walls or any backdrop that is being photographed or filmed.
    • Versatility. Fabric can be applied to most display and hardware options and is perfect for skinning or covering displays or objects. Custom covers can be created to drape over objects, wrap, or completely pillowcase them!
  5. How do you clean dye sublimation fabric graphics?

We recommend washing in your washing machine, cold setting, with a mild detergent and letting air dry.  Please DO NOT dry clean.

  6. What are the standard booth regulations for most North American trade shows?

Trade show regulations vary slightly from venue to venue, but most North American halls adhere to these common regulations for inline and island booths. Exhibitors with international experience will recognize that North American rules are very different from those in Europe and Asia. For example:

    Standard/Linear Booth (10' depth)

Any booth that shares a common back wall and abuts other exhibits on one or two sides.

Maximum height is 8 ft. This 8 ft. height may be maintained on the sidewall of your booth up to a distance of 5 ft. from the front aisle. The remaining length of the sidewall may be no higher than 4 ft.

In European shows, the display may extend 8 ft. to the aisle, which is uncommon in North American shows.
